Book Now - Angkerle Cultural Experience

Werte! (Hello)
Traditional Owners of Angkerle have always welcomed respectful visitors to their “womans dreaming” site and established Angkerle Aboriginal Corporation to maintain and operate the tourist enterprise and Kiosk Café with the local art/crafts outlet. To impart some of the appreciation they have for this area, the Angkerle Cultural Experience (ACE) tour will give the visitor to Standley Chasm a window into this fascinating world.
This HALF DAY tour consists of a guided walk up to the Chasm with the local community guides explaining some of the geology, flora, fauna, bush medicine, bush tucker and cultural history and heritage specific to this site.
Traditional symbolism used in ‘dot-dot’ art will be explained over morning tea/scones followed by a painting workshop where everyone is encouraged to ‘have a go’ and keep a souvenir they produced themselves, quite entertaining !
Questions and explanations of traditional culture and how it affects modern Aboriginal society is encouraged in the informal Cultural Conversations, raising awareness for lasting social benefits.
The tour ends with a sumptuous lunch served on the Verandah of the KioskCafe, always a perfect end to a great tour.
( Visitors are welcome to return to Chasm at their own pace, for as long as they wish, or explore some of the other walks on site)
